1. Local launches
Support the locals putting out new music including Physical Release, Grant Touchell and Mt Cleverest all launching this week at The Bird, Mojos and Jack Rabbit Slim’s respectively.
2. The White Album Concert
Tribute acts are often looked upon with a scoff, but this one is not one to turn your nose up at. Performed by Aussie legends Chris Cheney, Phil Jamieson, Tim Rogers and Josh Pyke alongside a massive 17 others, this is bound to go helter skelter. Catch them tonight at PCEC.
3. Disrupted Festival of Ideas
Dedicated to challenging our ways of thinking, the Disrupted Festival of Ideas is taking place this weekend at the State Library of WA. With panels, speakers and activities alike, there’ll be a little bit of something for everyone to get your brains ticking.
4. Bay City Rollers
The 70s pop icons are still going at it 40 years later. They make the trek from Scotland to treat fans young and old at the beautiful Astor Theatre next Wednesday.
5. The Babe Rainbow
They shot to notoriety around the nation for their amusingly titled Secret Enchanted Broccoli Forest, but there’s more to The Babe Rainbow than just vegetable-themed tunes. Check out their cool psych rock next Thursday at Mojos.
