The Big Sick is the latest film from producer Judd Apatow (Bridesmaids, Trainwreck). It’s been described as ‘gut bustingly funny’ (Mashable) and ‘easily one of the best Rom-Coms of the decade’ (Nerdist). The film is directed by Michael Showalter and stars Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Ray Romano and Holly Hunter.
It is based on the real-life courtship of Pakistan-born comedian Kumail and grad student Emily who fall in love, but struggle with the culture clash that ensues. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness, Kumail must navigate the crisis with her parents and the emotional tug-of-war between his family and his heart.
