The Preatures announce Blue Planet Eyes 10th Anniversary Tour

Sydney rockers The Preatures have reunited for a 15-date tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Blue Planet Eyes.

The band will perform the album in its entirety, along with a collection of their much-loved hits, across major capital cities and regional centres throughout Australia on their Blue Planet Eyes 10th Anniversary Tour.

The tour heads to Western Australia for shows at Freo.Social on Friday, July 25; The River, Margaret River, on Saturday, July 26; and Froth Craft Brewery, Bunbury, on Sunday, July 27. Adelaide indie four-piece The Tullamarines will join them as special support for all three WA dates.

Released in 2014, Blue Planet Eyes introduced The Preatures to the world with its infectious blend of 60s R&B and country-inflected pop-rock. Led by standout tracks like Is This How You Feel?, Better Than It Ever Could Be, and Somebody’s Talking, the album debuted at #4 on the ARIA charts, earned four ARIA nominations and a J Award nomination.

After disbanding in 2021, The Preatures reformed last year for a show at Sydney’s The Lansdowne to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their debut record. The band said they had so much fun performing together again that it left them wanting more, and plans for the national tour were set in motion.

“We’re so happy to be back doing what we love: playing live, connecting with fans, and travelling around Australia,” they said upon revealing the news. “This tour is dedicated to everyone who has supported The Preatures—through all our changes as a group and as individuals. We wanna celebrate this anniversary with you. We’re so excited to have the chance to play Blue Planet Eyes, along with the deep cuts… maybe even some new songs. See you in the pit!”
