American electronic dance music pioneers The Crystal Method finally return to Perth for the first time since 2007. Catch them at the Rosemount Hotel on Friday, June 19.
Along with the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and The Prodigy, The Crystal Method were pioneers of the big beat genre and electronica movement, and along with Moby they were the genre’s biggest US exponent.
With tracks like Busy Child and Trip Like I Do they took electronic music out of the warehouses and blank spaces and to some of the biggest festival fields in the world. The crossover also meant that they were asked to be part of traveling festivals like The Family Values Tour alongside nu metal, rock and rap acts.
In 2017, Ken Jordan retired from music and left the group, with Scott Kirkland adopting The Crystal Method as a solo moniker.
The Crystal Method plays The Rosemount Hotel on Friday, June 19. Tickets on sale Monday, February 17.
