The Butterfly Effect announce 21 Years of Begins Here regional tour

Following the success of their national capital city tour this year, Brisbane alt-rockers The Butterfly Effect are hitting the road again for a regional tour of Australia. The 21 Years of Begins Here tour celebrates the 21st anniversary of their landmark debut album, Begins Here, with 25 dates across the country.

After hitting venues across the east coast, Western Australian fans can catch The Butterfly Effect when they arrive at Settlers Tavern in Margaret River on Thursday, February 27, before heading to Prince of Wales in Bunbury on Friday, February 28, Freo.Social on Saturday, March 1, and Loop Nightclub in Joondalup on Sunday, March 2. The tour will then continue through Victoria and South Australia before wrapping up in Darwin.

Released in 2003, Begins Here reached #23 on the ARIA charts and was certified gold. Singles like Crave, Beautiful Mine, Always and One Second of Insanity became fan favourites, with the latter two charting in triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2004.

“We basically threw it open to the fans to tell us where they wanted us to play,” drummer Ben Hall shared. “We put most of the suggestions into a voting form, and from there, we made the final cut.” While some towns couldn’t make the list due to venue availability, Hall joked that “next time, we might just bring a stage on the back of a truck!”

“It feels amazing to still be doing what we love, and to be celebrating 21 years of our first album is very humbling,” added vocalist Clint Boge. “I never envisioned having a career spanning three decades, but I am very grateful and eternally thankful to the fans.”

Boge also confirmed that fans can expect to hear the album in its entirety alongside tracks from their 2006 release Imago, 2008’s Final Conversation of Kings, and their 2022 album IV. Additionally, Canberra rockers Hands Like Houses are also along for the ride as a support act.

“We love playing, and as long as we’re not losing a tonne of money to put the show on, we’ll pretty much play anywhere, anytime!”
