Talib Kweli goes traveling light down under
Brooklyn hip hop icon Talib Kweli is set to return down under for a run of headline shows this November, hitting Freo.Social on Saturday, November 7.
The East Coast rapper is also set to play shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney as part of his national tour.
On the night, fans can expect to hear hits from across Kweli’s two-decade-long catalogue, including Get By, Waitin’ for the DJ, 2000 Seasons, Never Been In Love and Traveling Light.
The Brooklyn artist last touched down in Perth last year, hitting Freo.Social on Saturday, January 4.
Rising to prominence in 1997 as part of the hip hop duo Black Star, formed alongside rapper Yasiin Bey, Talib Kweli has become internationally recognised as one of the biggest names in hip hop. In 2011, he won the MTV Movie + TV Awards for Best Music Video for his track Cold Rain, and his catalogue has accumulated over 780 million total streams to date.
Kweli has also worked with artists including Kanye West, Pharrell, and J Dilla and has secured festival slots at Rock The Bells, Boston Urban Music Festival and Hennessy Back To The City.
