Simple Minds announce Australian tour with Gary Numan

Simple Minds are returning to Australia this February as part of their V Tour 2027, celebrating five decades of music.

The band will kick off their Australian tour at Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, February 13, before heading across the country for performances in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Since the release of their debut album Life in a Day, Simple Minds have enjoyed a remarkable career, with over 60 million album sales and sold-out arenas and stadiums across the globe. Renowned for their anthemic choruses and expansive sound, the band became one of the defining acts of the 1980s. Their enduring catalogue includes global hits Alive and Kicking, Promised You A Miracle, Waterfront, and Don’t You (Forget About Me)—which recently joined the prestigious Spotify Billions Club.

Joining the Simple Minds V Tour 2027 as special guest is Gary Numan, who makes his long-awaited return down under on his first Australian tour in over a decade.

Rising to fame with hits Are ‘Friends’ Electric? and Cars, Numan pioneered a distinctive sound that helped define the future of electronic music and inspired artists across rock, electronic and alternative music to this day.
