Review: Good Deeds’ No More
Good Deeds
No More
Independent
Emerging Perth artist Good Deeds has released his strongest work yet with No More—a catchy, emotionally layered single that helps set the tone for his upcoming debut EP, You’ll Never Catch Me Smiling.
Written during a pivotal moment in London, the track captures the bittersweet decision to walk away from his old life. “I wrote this when I realised my time in London was up,” shares Good Deeds. “I felt stuck—especially at work—and knew I needed to come back home to Australia to grow.”
Despite the melancholic tone, the song is far from sad, striking the perfect balance between vulnerability and fun. With its catchy drumbeat, bouncy bassline, and danceable chorus, the track leans into that indie-pop groove that has you nodding your head and tapping your feet along.
The track is produced by Perth’s own Calvin Bennett and features background vocals from fellow artist Vanessa, whose powerful harmonies elevate the song and add another layer of depth to an already emotional track.
No More is already Good Deeds’ most listened-to song on multiple streaming platforms, overtaking his earlier singles in just a few weeks. If this song is anything to go by, his debut EP, You’ll Never Catch Me Smiling, is set to be something special.
