Rebirth Brass Band bring one-off show from USA to Perth

Rebirth Brass Band are bringing their one-night-only show to Metro City on Thursday, October 22, as part of the Perth International Jazz Festival.

The Rebirth Brass Band is a collective of jazz musicians founded in 1983 who blend funk, jazz, soul, and hip-hop, and they were awarded their first Grammy in 2012 for the album Rebirth of New Orleans. 

Hailing from the USA, this infamous jazz collective has shared stages with legends James Brown, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beyoncé.

Local funk-soul group the Steve Hensby Band are set to support Rebirth Brass Band on the night. The ensemble have also made waves in recent years, with frontman Steve Hensby earning a WAM Award for best guitarist in 2023.

Rebirth Brass Band are one of the first headliners to be announced as part of Perth International Jazz Festival 2026, which runs across multiple venues from Thursday, October 22 to Sunday, November 1.
