Scitech‘s science news website Particle is hosting a series of four movie nights running from April 9-30 called Particle Under the Stars. This unique sci-fi experience pairs a much-loved feature film and a stellar live science show on the full dome at Scitech’s Planetarium.
Particle Under the Stars will kick off on Thursday, April 9, screening the gentle comedy, Her, a film about a withdrawn writer (Joaquin Phoenix) who falls in love with his computer’s highly advanced operating system.
On the following Thursday, April 16, 90s favourite Gattaca will take over Scitech’s dome. The film takes place in a futuristic society where the rich and successful have taken to genetically engineering their children to create physical and mental perfection.
On Thursday, April 23 Particles is screening the original Total Recall (pictured). Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a 21st-century construction worker who discovers that his entire memory of the past derives from a chip implanted in his brain.
For the finale on Thursday, April 30, Particle is screening the low-budget, cult sci-fi thriller Primer.
Get down early for the bar open from 5:30pm, providing drinks and movie snacks. Due to this, Particle Under the Stars is an 18+ event.
