Loyle Carner brings new album tour down under
Genre-blending London artist Loyle Carner has today announced his brand-new album, hopefully !, is due for release on Friday, June 20.
The announcement comes alongside news of an Australian tour later this year, hitting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne before wrapping up at Perth’s Metro City on Tuesday, December 9.
Described as “a life-affirming exploration of fatherhood, childhood and alternative music,” hopefully ! was introduced recently alongside two surprise new songs, all i need and in my mind.
A musician, writer, director, producer, and actor, Loyle Carner first emerged with 2013’s A Little Late EP and won fans across the world with his diaristic lyricism and genre-disruptive sounds. His debut album, 2017’s Yesterday’s Gone, untangled personal experiences of grief, while 2019 follow-up, Not Waving, but Drowning, further showcased Loyle’s ability to set lithe rap against old-soul wisdom. Carner expanded both musically and thematically with 2022’s hugo: an exploration of Black identity and anger.
Having been twice shortlisted for the Mercury Prize—along with further BRIT and NME Award nominations—Carner has amassed over a billion streams and sold-out shows at Alexandra Palace, Wembley Arena, Royal Albert Hall and more.
Carner was also recently confirmed to make his acting debut in Mint, a BBC drama from BAFTA-nominated Scrapper director Charlotte Regan, with further exciting visual projects to follow.
Loyle Carner’s new album, hopefully !, is due for release on Friday, June 20, 2025. Loyle Carner plays Metro City on Tuesday, December 9. Tickets are on sale Wednesday, April 30, from livenation.com.au
