Local metal heavyweights Darkyra launch new single We are Blind

Perth epic metallers Darkyra are set to launch their new single, We Are Blind, at Lynott’s Lounge on Friday, July 24.

To kick off the single launch, the metal four-piece will be joined onstage by special guests, including Swedish metal band Shadowborn, instrumental prog metallers Outcome Variables and melodic metal group Parabelum. 

The band’s new single, We Are Blind, is a traditional-style symphonic composition co-written by vocalist Gina Bafile (Darkyra) and guitarist Krissy Sanfead (Parabelum), with Sanfead previously performing with Darkyra in 2024.

On the night, Darkyra will perform We Are Blind with members of Parabelum, with Parabelum also set to perform their own set of melodic metal compositions.

Hailing from Perth, Darkyra have become recognised for their distinct sound blending elements of cinematic music, progressive rock and gothic metal. After taking an eight-year hiatus from writing and performing, the band returned in 2024 with a performance at Metal United Downunder, and, in 2025, released their third studio album, Life Force.
