Leederville’s Vinyl Café to move on up with new location, restaurant and bar

Vinyl Café is moving to a new home. The business will relocate to a new, bigger space just across the street from their current location in Leederville. Starting from May 2023, the store will begin trading from the ground floor of The Foundry building at 636 Newcastle Street.

The move coincides with a substantial upgrade for Vinyl Café, with the new space to feature a fully-equipped commercial kitchen and bar. The new Vinyl Café will begin operating under a small bar licence which allows them to extend trading hours and accommodate more patrons.

“This space is brand new and designed from the ground up but will still have a fun and welcoming feel to it,” said Vinyl Café’s Dylan Sainsbury. “We will have several beers on tap plus quality and good value cocktails, wines and packaged local beers, a dedicated coffee window, indoor and outdoor seating, and best of all more space so we can host more live music and vinyl DJs. There will also be a fully equipped commercial kitchen will mean we will be offering a lot more than just the toasties and bagels Vinyl Café has become famous for.”

The new space will also offer more opportunities for the venue to host bigger and better events than before.

“We’re going to be trading as a small bar in the new space meaning we can trade more evenings and being bigger means it will be a lot more viable to have a lot more live music and vinyl DJs,” said Sainsbury. “The aim isn’t to become another live music venue but to keep regular nights happening such as our monthly acoustic punk night and our live electronic nights. As well as bringing back the morning live jazz on Sundays and plenty of DJ sessions in between.”

Despite all the changes, Vinyl Café say their customers can continue to enjoy the same relaxed vibe and friendly service the place has come to be known for.

“The personal service and welcoming friendly atmosphere definitely won’t change. We have a great team and some awesome candidates to join us and add to the range of skills, knowledge and personality of the business. My passion and the long hours I spend at Vinyl Cafe certainly isn’t going to change any time soon.”

With some of the details yet to be finalised, the venue is requesting input from the public.
