Fairbridge Festival brings local and international folk together with 2026 lineup
Folk and world music festival, Fairbridge Festival, is back in 2026, returning to Fairbridge Village near Pinjarra from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 19, after a five-year hiatus.
This year’s festival theme, Honouring the Past – Reimagining the Future, will showcase a rich diversity of folk and world music, with a mix of local and international artists, alongside the festival’s core children’s and youth programs.
British folk duo Chris While & Julie Matthews are set to return to Fairbridge for the first time in fifteen years, playing their signature mix of original folk, roots, and acoustic songs on the stage.
Fairbridge punters can look forward to the sounds of Australian folk, with folk trio Apolline set to transform fiddle, cello and double bass into genre-bending arrangements of traditional Celtic melodies. New South Wales-based indie-folk artist Isabel Rumble will also bring earth-rooted heartfelt songs to the festival, whilst Melbourne singer-songwriter Kris Mizzi will perform intimate and magnetic songs on the Fairbridge stage.
A strong contingent of local artists also join the festival lineup, including alternative indie artist Anna Schneider, singer-songwriter and composer Emily Barker, Indigenous folk artist Gina Williams-Ghouse, WAMI award winner and Noongar artist George Walley, folk musician Bernard Carney OAM and blues musician and luthier Scott Wise.
Artistic Program Coordinator Jon Cope said the much-loved Fairbridge Festival returns from the hiatus with a renewed vision and energy. “The hiatus years have offered time for reflection on the heart and soul of Fairbridge Festival,” he said.
“The 2026 program continues the core focus on folk, world and roots music and musicianship, alongside inspiring children’s and youth programs, but with greater diversity and inclusion indicative of our evolving Australian culture,” he said.
