Blues at Bridgetown third artist announcement

Blues at Bridgetown have made their third and final artist announcement for the 31st edition of the festival, taking over the South West town of Bridgetown from Friday, November 10 to Sunday, November 12.

The new additions include 19-Twenty, an infectious riff and groove-based blue-billy-grass-rockin’-roots band. Constantly on the road or in the sky, they have toured seven times around Australia and performed gigs all throughout Europe.

Blue Shaddy are also bona fide Blues at Bridgetown icons. Led by guitarist, singer and main songwriter Jim McClelland, Blue Shaddy blend elements of blues, country, and rock into a whirlpool of foot-stomping infectious energy.

Mitch Santiago is a self-taught 17-year-old multi-instrumentalist from Perth. Santiago has released a series of songs amassing over 4 million streams, including his new single, Talk To Me, written by Mitch and Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy, Alex Lahey, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers) and co-produced by Santiago and frequent collaborator Andy Lawson (The Buoys, Eskimo Joe).

Frank Sultana is a modern-day Australian bluesman. Dripping with a pre-WW2 mojo, dark, dirty guitar tones and a voice of grit and soul, Sultana has been writing, recording and performing his original blues songs in Australia since his 2011 debut, Blues from the Lost Motel – and now has four EPs and eight albums under his belt.

Dubbed ‘Perth’s grandfather of blues,’ Rick Steele is considered one of the most charismatic and amiable characters in Western Australia’s music scene. With a set of vocal chords to match his name and countless humorous stories and observations of life, he is an evening’s entertainment in his own right.

Other new additions to Blues at Bridgetown 2023 include Louis Rebeiro & The Blues Machine, Jordan Mac, Riverbugs, Martin Lee Cropper, Ben Catley, Jook Joint Band, Perth Blues Club, South West Blues Club, Hills Blues Club, Albany Blues Club, Martin Cropper, The Riders, Mary Myfanwy, Ian Cocker, MDV Music and Zack Linton.
