BETTY GRUMBLE Getting her groove back

After a decade of playing within her spiritual access point and avatar, Betty Grumble – performance artist Emma Maye Gibson is bringing her latest offering Enemies of Grooviness Eat Shit back to the stage. The show hits The Rechabite for four nights, running from Wednesday, August 10 until Saturday, August 13.

The show is described as “a self reflective, regenerative dive into the compost bin of making and moving through the trouble; of defying the ever-present cultures of violence and ecocide.”

“Grumble does not belong to me, she belongs to the universe,” she said. “Like the fractal landscape of a flower, like a drag face on the bum of a caterpillar. She has held me, and at this threshold of maturation, I let her become and unbecome me. Thank You Body!”

Enemies of Grooviness Eat Shit combines poetry, tribute, a rock n roll performance art, collision, love scene and revenge fantasy into a “sensual, surreal and sublime experience of an all singing, dancing, howling and love cabaret du Sex Clown.”

Betty Grumble’s Enemies of Grooviness Eat Shit hits The Rechabite nightly from Wednesday, August 10 until Saturday, August 13, 2022. For more info and to buy tickets, head to megatix.com.au
