BEN CATLEY Announces new EP ‘We’re All Just Here For Now’

After a string of recent singles showcasing the development of his style, Perth’s Ben Catley has announced his new four-track EP We’re All Just Here For Now is coming out on Thursday, October 27.

Described as being “full of guitar and thought,” the EP shows a more contemplative songwriting style from Catley, rich with his acoustic guitar style, driving grooves, and a huge didge feature.

The first track The Place That I Left is an ode to growing up in Newcastle in the north of England (in the same small town as Sam Fender), with percussive finger-tapping guitar and big falsetto vocals. It was previously released as a single.

The EP also features the upbeat new single You Never Know Anybody’s Story, Saving Song with a huge didge hook from Si Mullumby (widely regarded as one of the world’s best didge players), and the title track We’re All Just Here For Now, a note-to-self to always try to live in the now and to believe in yourself.

Prior to these new songs, Catley previously released tracks featuring the voice of the legendary Wim Hof, as well as Cloudcabins, an EP of atmospheric fingerstyle guitar instrumentals.

Recently finishing a full Australian tour playing in good mate Michael Dunstan’s band, Ben Catley now returns his focus back to this next release and WA launch shows. These include performances Pigeonhole Store, Perth, on Friday, October 21; Clancy’s Fremantle on Friday, November 11; and Music In The Park, Joondalup, with Noah Dillon on Saturday, November 26.

Ben Catley’s new single You Never Know Anybody’s Story is out now.  Ben Catley’s EP We’re All Just Here For Now is out Thursday, October 27, 2022. For more info and to buy tickets to the launch shows, head to Ben Catley’s Facebook page.
