German-based supermarket chain Aldi opened its first four West Australian stores today, with social media reporting 800 meter queues forming before dawn at the Belmont, Kwinana, Joondalup and Mirrabooka venues. Aldi plan to open 70 stores in WA over the next few years, providing the first real competition to the Supermarket ‘Big Two’ Woolworths and Coles.
