Sip, savour and explore the 2026 Bickley Harvest Festival
The annual Bickley Harvest Festival returns this weekend, bringing a month-long showcase of local flavours and experiences to the Perth Hills from Saturday, May 2 to Saturday, May 30.
Taking place on each weekend in May, just 35 minutes east of Perth, the Bickley, Carmel and Pickering Brook valleys will feature a rolling celebration of wine, cider, spirits, farm-fresh feasts and local flavour.
Now in its 26th year, the 2026 edition is the biggest and most diverse yet, bringing together 28 participating venues and a month-long program of tastings, long lunches, special events and family-friendly experiences.
This weekend, cellar doors, distilleries, orchards, cafés and art studios will throw open their doors for two days of relaxed harvest festivities. Visitors can design their own trail through the valley, including wine tasting, dining, browsing local art or produce, live music and more.
To make exploring easier, a free hop-on hop-off shuttle will operate across selected venues over the opening weekend. This allows festival-goers to park once, move between stops without the need to drive each leg, and simply enjoy the atmosphere, flavours and scenery of the Perth Hills.
The 2026 festival introduces several new elements that reflect the region’s creativity and diversity. In Carmel, family-run cold-pressed juice business Best Pressed Raw will host the Best Pressed Fiesta, a celebration of juice, local produce and wholesome, non-alcoholic, family fun.

The scenic Chalet Rigi will offer a special pop-up experience during the festival ahead of its much-anticipated official reopening, giving visitors an early taste of the new chapter for the charming, alpine-inspired venue.
Kalamunda Farmers Markets have also joined the festival program this year, offering guided harvest tours that connect market-goers with the farms, orchards and vineyards behind their local produce. These tours provide a perfect starting point for a day in the hills, helping visitors understand the stories, seasons and people that shape the Bickley Valley.
Across the month, the festival’s participating wineries and venues will host a variety of experiences that showcase the region’s cool-climate character and quality produce.
There is the opportunity to taste some of the region’s boutique gins and vodkas at Carmel Distillery or HHH Spirits; ciders at Carmel Cider Co or Core Cider House; brews from Hogg Culture Brewing Co.; or wines from Brookside Vineyard and Tonon Vineyard & Winery.

Long lunches with stunning valley views take place at venues such as Plume Estate Vineyard, MyattsField Vineyards, Lawnbrook Estate, Hainault @ Carmel, or La Fattoria Perth Hills.
Beyond wine and food, visitors can discover open art studios, local makers and creative spaces like Petra’s Pottery Open Studio at Bickley Valley Cottage, New Leaf Gallery, Mel Taylor Studio, Flying Duck Studio, or Rusty Roo.
Families are well catered for too, with many venues offering kids’ menus and activities, with mini golf at Masonmill and a visit to the Perth Observatory great options for a family day out.

The month wraps up with an orchestral finale on Saturday, May 30, with Harvest Symphony with WASO. This intimate, ticketed evening event sees the West Australian Symphony Orchestra perform a program of folk and classical music at Chalet Rigi, making it a rare chance to experience world-class music in a unique, rural setting.
With a stack of options for wine-lovers, foodies and families, the 2026 Bickley Harvest Festival is a great opportunity to discover—or rediscover—the Bickley Valley. Bookings are required at some venues, so advance planning using the online event planner is recommended to create your journey to sip, taste, tour, listen and experience.
