In Other Words brings the healing power of music to centre stage at Koorliny Arts Centre

Playwright and producer Matthew Seager is set to bring his new intimate and deeply moving show, In Other Words, to Koorliny Arts Centre at Theatre 1 from Friday, May 15, to Saturday, May 23.

Directed by Geoffrey Leeder, the new show explores the effects of Alzheimer’s disease and the transformative power of music in life through the story of a couple, Arthur and Jane.

In Other Words stars Grant Malcolm as Arthur and Natalie Burbage as Jane and follows the story of how the pair met, fell in love, and built a life together. However, as the years pass, their journey takes an unexpected turn with the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Woven together with the timeless music of Frank Sinatra, this heartfelt and humorous play captures the small, familiar moments that shape a shared life, exploring the realities of memory loss and the role music can play in reconnecting people to their past.

The team behind In Other Words has also partnered with Forget-Me-Not Memory Café to offer information at every performance for those affected by dementia.

In Other Words hits Koorliny Arts Centre at Theatre 1 from Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 23, 2026. Tickets are on sale now from oztix.com.au
