Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Music for Pasta are playlists made up of those pieces and songs you love to listen to while you prepare, cook or eat pasta – which we know a lot of you will be doing right now, if the supermarket shelves have anything to say.
Filled with favourites from your Italian dinner party playlist, the music you can imagine Italian greats composing while eating a carbonara. What do you think Vivaldi, Paganini, Scarlatti, Monteverdi, Puccini were eating while they composed some of their greatest works? What were they listening to and inspired by?
CEO Bourby Webster features in a series of videos on Facebook and Instagram looking deeper into the stories and anecdotes around her favourite pieces in the playlist.
Emmy-winning film and television composer, Silas Hite (Los Angeles), who wrote the music for Netflix’s popular documentary series Chef’s Table and co-scored Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will feature as a guest on the next episode of Perth Symphony’s podcast channel and in a special video on social media personalised to the Music for Pasta listeners.
Tracks from Hite’s album, Sounds for a Dinner Party, feature in the Music for Pasta playlist and honour the delicate combination, balance, and joy that happens when friends and family converse around a table.
