CHECK OUT The Atlas Mountains

AtlasMountains

The Atlas Mountains make their Bassendean Hotel debut this Friday, June 24 for the At The Basso series, joined by Robbie Jalapeno & The Bureaucrats, Petticoat Junkyard and Big Orange. After the release of their third full length album last November “Stuck In Hope Valley” and a killer video single for “Kicking Goals” we caught up with guitarist Scott Nash to find out what’s been happening in the Atlas Mountains camp.

So, what’s been happening?

Just band stuff really. Jamming, rehearsing, procreating!

You guys seem to be constantly writing and pumping out new material. With three albums under your belt already, are you currently working on album number four?

Yeah, currently we are sifting through some demo/jam room recordings working towards a fourth release.

Walk us through your song writing process, is there a main songwriter, does everyone come to the table with their own songs or is it more of a collaborative process?

Lyrically yes. There is a main song writer in Taylor Smith (aka Leaf Crown) though the structure, riff idea’s and feel of the songs is generally a collaborative thing.

Tell us about the show this Friday, what can we expect? What are the other cats on the bill all about?

To be honest I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the other bands on the bill live yet, looking forward to it. As for us, only our A game!

What’s on the horizon for 2016?

Some pre-production on a few songs later in the year, we’ve got some gigs in the north west and we’ll be doing more shows around Perth.

Thanks guys! Looking forward to this Friday, it sounds like hoot!
