One of Australia’s most controversial bands, Sticky Fingers, have announced a massive national arena tour of Australia. Promising to be their “biggest home run” to date, the band are set to hit major Australian capital cities, including a date at RAC Arena on Saturday, November, 30, in support of their fourth album, Yours To Keep.
The tour announcement was decidedly a ‘soft announce’ for the Sydney band, with only limited details of the tour sent to their email subscribers and no mention of the upcoming shows on their Facebook or Instagram page.
The decision for this is likely related to the band’s hiatus for much of 2017 and 2018 after accusations of abusive comments and behaviour surfaced against them. While the band did announce a comeback last year, which included a date at HBF Stadium as part of a national tour in October, most of their time has been spent focusing overseas since.
The change of focus did not come without incident however as the band was forced to cancel the North American tour in May, citing health reasons: “Dearest Fans. We are very sorry to announce that the upcoming North American tour is cancelled. We need to look after our health for now. We care about each other. We care about you. We are sorry that we have let you down. It is with a heavy heart but of best intentions. All tickets will be refunded.”
In addition, frontman Dylan Frost reportedly went missing during the band’s tour of Germany in May, while there were also allegations of a row involving him and bassist Paddy Cornwall in July requiring police intervention.
No support acts have yet been named for the tour.
