FRINGE WORLD FESTIVAL Launches With Massive Opening Weekend

FRINGE WORLD kicks off this Friday January 20, transforming Perth once again for 31 days of Fringe-uary. Lucky they’ve got a handy online planner to plan out all your Fringe adventures! But we’ll get to that.

This year there are over 700 tickets for you to choose from at Fringe Festival. From big ticket items such as La Sioree to Limbo to an array of local talent on display every night Fringe is, let’s face it, what’s been missing from your life.

Some of the key events to look forward to this opening weekend include free fun for the kids. The Pleasure Garden has a children’s wonderland called Little Pleasures with free entry from 3-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The famous Fringe Mermaids are also back for another year and are sure to entertain both little and big kids.

The Pleasure Craft is located at the Pleasure Garden and offers nightly entertainment, and thanks to Gage Roads Brewery there will be free nightly pop-up performances.

Fringe Central at The Urban Orchard provides a Ferris Wheel for people to ride on looking over Northbridge and all the various fun Fringe events.

As far off as Scarborough Beach there is The Sunset Verandah, which will bring cabaret, comedy, music, circus, a pop-up bar, magic and much more to be excited about.

Noodle Palace at the North Metropolitan TAFE in Northbridge has a schedule packed with of some of the best Australian comedy, circus, cabaret, storytelling and magic acts, paired with jaw dropping international artists. The opening night of the Noodle Palace is a free event featuring DJ sets from Nina Las Vegas.

There are over 150 different venues hosting Fringe events this year from Fremantle, Mount Lawley and Scarborough to Victoria Park and Leederville, just to name a few. To see all the venues go to fringeworld.com.

Fringe Festival prides itself on offering events for everyone. Most shows are approximately 60 minutes in length and cost on average $24 a ticket.
