Yellowcard announce Ocean Avenue 20th anniversary tour

US alt rock band Yellowcard will return down under next year celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their platinum-selling album Ocean Avenue. The tour kicks off at Metro City in Perth on Wednesday, April 2 before heading east for shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane.

Yellowcard will be joined by pop-punk stalwarts Motion City Soundtrack and Chicago quartet Plain White T’s on the full run of dates.

With over 1.8 million US copies sold and over 1 billion streams to date, Yellowcard’s fourth studio album Ocean Avenue won the Jacksonville four-piece fans across the world. Armed with singles such as Only One, Breathing, Way Away, and the title track Ocean Avenue, the album was a breakthrough for the band in 2003.

“It has taken us a long time to sort out bringing the 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue to Australia, but we promise it will be worth the wait,” said the band upon revealing the tour news. “This line-up is so good and we can’t wait to reconnect with our fans down under.”
