WA Comedy Week is back with the laughs for fifth year

WA Comedy Week is set to return next month, bringing a showcase of the state’s best local talent to venues across Subiaco from Tuesday, August 4, to Sunday, August 9.

Featuring a wide variety of comedy acts from stand-up to sketch, improv, musical and more, the six-day festival is produced by wacomedy.com and presented by local government initiative See Subiaco. Expanding its program for its fifth year, the festival will have shows at Lums Wine Bar, Bark Subiaco, Subiaco Arts Centre, Subiaco Bar & Bistro, McNally’s Irish Pub, and Vibe Hotel Subiaco.

With 11 performances throughout the week, highlights include the comedy hot wing challenge Wingin’ It, the female showcase Girl Power Comedy Hour, and the queer comedy showcase Rainbow Racket, along with returning favourites WA Comedy All-Stars and the free festival finale Corner Comedy – WA Comedy Week Showcase.

“Reaching our fifth year is a fantastic milestone for WA Comedy Week,” shared Festival Director Ronan Freeburn. “What began as an idea to celebrate Western Australian comedy has grown into a festival that brings together performers, venues, local businesses and audiences from across the state. We’re proud to be celebrating five years of WA Comedy Week with 11 shows across six fantastic venues in Subiaco.”

“This year the City celebrates five years of support for WA Comedy Week. Once again, we welcome audiences to experience everything Subiaco has to offer,” said City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen. “Enjoy a laugh, and also make the most of Subiaco’s vibrant bars and restaurants before or after the show.”

WA Comedy Week runs across Lums Wine Bar, Bark Subiaco, Subiaco Arts Centre, Subiaco Bar & Bistro, McNally’s Irish Pub, and Vibe Hotel Subiaco from Tuesday, August 4, to Sunday, August 9, 2026. Early bird tickets are on sale now from wacomedyweek.com
