Does anyone actually care? Sure there’s plenty of money to be made in misplaced nostalgia, but this seems to be a bridge too far. It lacks the impact to really intrigue a new audience, while hardcore Turtles fans (and that’s a sad turn of phrase in and of itself) will be stirred to frothing rage by the liberties taken with the source material (first and foremost, they racelifted Shredder, for crying out loud). Plus, the Turtles look freakin’ massive – that’s just weird. Between people who don’t care about the property and people who care too much, is there an audience left? Guess we’ll find out soon enough.
