The Script announce A Day on the Green headline tour
Award-winning Dublin four-piece The Script are bringing their Satellites World Tour to Australia this summer. It will be the band’s first Australian show in close to three years, after they brought their Greatest Hits Tour down under in 2022.
The tour features seven performances across the country, including The Script’s A Day On The Green debut, with the group to headline outdoor shows in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia before wrapping up with a Western Australian show at Burswood Park, Perth, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
The Script will also play two arena shows in Wollongong and Sydney.
Joining The Script on their A Day On The Green dates will be Brit Award-nominated singer Calum Scott, local dynamic pop artist Montaigne, and pop-rock multi-platinum trio X Ambassadors.
“Australia always holds a special place in our touring hearts, so we can’t wait to come back early 2025 to play the hits and new songs from our forthcoming new album, Satellites,” said vocalist Danny O’Donoghue.
Last hitting our shores in 2022, The Script took fans on a trip down memory lane with performances of essential tracks such as The Man Who Can’t Be Moved, For the First Time, Nothing, and Breakeven.
'Satellites' is out on Friday, August 16
The Script’s recently announced album, Satellites, out on Friday, August 16, marks their seventh studio album and first since the passing of beloved bandmate and guitarist Mark Sheehan.
The Script have given fans a taste of the new record with the opening track Both Ways and the follow-up single At Your Feet.
“The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, who's been with us from the beginning. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there,” said Danny O’Donoghue on the legacy of their bandmate. “He always will be, but it's also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It'll never be the same Script. We're just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do, and that’s to keep making more great music.”
Since forming in 2001, The Script have achieved more than 10 billion streams, 12 million album sales, six UK Number one albums and two Platinum-certified US singles. Five Top 10 ARIA album charts and seven Top 40 singles (including 5 x platinum for Breakeven and 10 x platinum for Hall of Fame [feat. will.i.am]) have established the band’s popularity in Australia.
Calum Scott
First achieving mainstream recognition as a fan-favourite contestant on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, Calum Scott became known internationally with the 2016 release of seminal hit Dancing On My Own, which has seen more than 1 billion Spotify streams to date. His 2018 debut album Only Human saw the Brit Award-nominated singer reach number one on the iTunes album chart in more than 20 countries around the world.
Montaigne
Since early releases of I Am Not An End and I’m A Fantastic Wreck in 2014, Montaigne has established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting artists with an instantly recognisable and dynamic voice. The release of Because I Love You in 2016 earned them a Number 4 ARIA Chart position and a ‘Best Breakthrough Artist’ award at the 2016 ARIA Awards, followed by their collaboration with Hilltop Hoods and Tom Thum on 1955, a now 8 x Platinum record.
X-Ambassadors
X Ambassadors exploded into the mainstream with their 2015 platinum-certified debut album, VHS, and have barely missed a beat since. Frontman Sam Nelson Harris has also achieved acclaim as a producer and songwriter for artists including Rihanna and SZA, as well as collaborating with Eminem, K.Flay and Illenium. The group’s latest album, Townie, marks possibly their most intimate and personal record yet, as Harris takes listeners on the journey of his upbringing and adolescence in upstate New York alongside brother and fellow bandmate Casey Harris.
The Script’s A Day On The Green tour hits Burswood Park on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Tickets are on sale Friday, August 9 from adayonthegreen.com.au
