Cult indie rockers The Lemonheads have announced a string of Australian sideshows to coincide with their appearance at Fairgrounds Festival this summer, with a date locked in at Freo.Social on Wednesday, December 4. It’s welcome news for Western Australian fans, with the band’s last tour in March 2018 only hitting the east coast.
Since they were formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1986 by Evan Dando, The Lemonheads grew to become icons of alt-rock during the 90s. The band’s output has been less frequent since the 2000s than it was in the 80s and 90s, but it’s retained its quality.
This year, The Lemonheads returned with their tenth studio album Varshons 2, their second covers album, featuring versions of songs from Yo La Tengo, Lucinda Williams, Nick Cave and more.
The Lemonheads play Freo.Social on Wednesday, December 4. Tickets are on sale now from Handsome Tours.
