A recent Triple J Unearthed feature artist, young, Perth-based, self-taught pianist and vocalist Teischa has announced a hometown headline show at Mojos, North Fremantle on Friday June 30.
It’s her first show since a recent performance at Groovin The Moo in Bunbury, as well as support sets alongside Vera Blue and Vallis Alps earlier this year. Teischa will also support Bernard Fanning for his three shows at the Rosemount Hotel on October, 11, 13 and 14.
With comparisons to Meg Mac and Montaigne coming in thick and fast, these shows are in support of Teischa’s acclaimed new single Midnight Hour. Released independently last month, her debut self-titled EP also includes Move and Oh Brother.
Combining her love of classical and soul music, and inspired by female voices like Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone, Teischa offers up a silky, contemporary spin on classical technique, with each song as understated and charming as she is.
Midnight Hour is available now. Teischa plays Mojos, North Fremantle on Friday June 30.
