SONAR ROOM Celebrating in style

Fremantle venue Sonar Room is set to celebrate its first birthday with a special night of free live music on Friday, November 15.

Local soul/funk outfit Odette Mercy & Her Soul Atomics (pictured) will headline the evening, bringing the heavy soul sounds of the 60s with explosive, dynamic music set to get everyone on the dance floor. The Steve Hensby Band are another local favourite, employing the best of folk, groove, funk and plenty of horns to make a fun and entertaining live show.

Acclaimed singer/songwriter and instrumentalist Cecilia Brandolini brings her five-piece band The Quirks to the party, blending contemporary grooves and heart melting four-part harmonies with her emotional presence. You can also get a taste of the Snowy Mountains with roots artist Oscar Litchfield (NSW), bringing a smooth style that is sure to set the mood right.

It has been a remarkable first year for Sonar Room since it made its home in the famous Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour precinct. While an array of great local and national music acts have graced its stages, the venue has also hosted a colourful mix of events ranging from comedy, burlesque and boylesque to special events – and they’re looking forward to more in the years to come!

Doors for the party open at 7.00pm and guests can enjoy a selection of birthday specials at the bar including $5 House Wines, $8 specialty pints and even a one-night-only $10 Birthday Cocktail!

Sonar Room’s First Birthday Party goes down at Sonar Room in Fremantle on Friday, November 15. Entry is free. For more information head to the event’s Facebook page.
