Nine-piece indie rock band Salary will celebrate the release of their debut long player Upside Down Island in their spiritual home, downstairs from the Norfolk Hotel in Freo, on Saturday May 27. To celebrate, they’ve released a brand new single, Beyond, which they’ve made available as an exclusive free download to X-Press readers via the Soundcloud link below.
Joining them on the sonic journey for this momentous occasion, which follows a debut east coast tour, will be dreamy shoegazers HYLA, activist punks Last Quokka and current Triple J Unearthed darlings The Spring Peaks.
The Odd Fellow will be filled to the brim with sweet sounds and big vibes, as frontman Sean Gorman and his all-star band take to the stage in celebration of their massive creative achievement, over 12 months in the making.
Mixed by Naomune Anzai (NO ZU, Kim Salmon & The Surrealists, Laura) in Melbourne, the album features the already released tracks Mini Moke, One Friday I Was Bored, plus the ethereal Beyond.
Upside Down Island will be available for streaming & download from Friday May 20 from all quality digital retailers. It will also be available for purchase in limited edition 12″ vinyl form available from Bandcamp and live shows, while stocks last. In addition, anyone who preorders a vinyl or CD copy of Upside Down Island will get their name added to the guestlist at the Odd Fellow on May 27, click HERE.
Upside Down Island is out May 20. Salary play the Odd Fellow, Fremantle on Saturday May 27 with support from HYLA, Last Quokka and The Spring Peaks.
