Russian Resurrection, the largest Russian film festival outside of the country itself, is set to launch its 11th season around Australia and for the first time in New Zealand. Since it started the festival has had more than 65,000 attendees. This year the festival will celebrate Mosfilm’s 90th anniversary with an exhibition of six retrospective films and 14 brand new films. The festival will feature, among others, Test (winner of Best Film at the Kinotavr Film Festival in 2014), Stalingrad (concerning the battle between the Russian and German forces during World War Two) and Dersu Uzala the winner of the 1976 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.Russian Resurrection will be held at Event Cinemas Innaloo from Thursday-Wednesday, November 6-12.
