Roady4Roadies is a charity walk taking place on Sunday, March 10 to bring public awareness to the unseen but essential backbone of every music event we all enjoy and highlight the diverse range of highly technical and creative skills required of live production crew, while raising desperately needed funds to help those in crisis with proceeds going to Support Act.
Roadies are the unsung heroes of the Australian music industry and amongst the most essential figures in the entertainment world. The reality is, no roadies = no show.
The day commences with the inaugural Roady4Roadies Walk (a leisurely 3-5kms). Start your walk at the luckiest place around, The Lucky Shag, then follow the banks of the beautiful Swan River with a pit stop at The Point Bar & Grill. We continue under the Causeway Bridge along the river past Trinity College and Gloucester Park and then over Matagarup Bridge to The Camfield for a family day of fun and entertainment. There will be BBQ’s, prizes and Roadie Games for the kids.
Every participant receives a t-shirt, wristband, laminate and lanyard, with water and sunscreen provided along the way.
Then there’s the Crewathlon, a fun and friendly competition between teams of roadies, with awards, speeches and prizes being given. There’ll also be raffles at each even with major prizes on offer including road cases valued at over $850 each. The day concludes with live entertainment from some of the country’s leading artists. These will be announced soon.
