Ricky Neil Jr. announces HEARTBREAKER national tour
Electrifying indie-pop Noongar artist Ricky Neil Jr. has announced a new single, HEARTBREAKER, set for release on Wednesday, August 19.
The Western Australian musican will celebrate the release with a national tour, kicking off at Albany Town Hall on Saturday, August 22, and hitting Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane before wrapping up at Indian Ocean Hotel on September 12.
Indie three-piece About Yesterday, indie jazz artist Paperback Fort, and new project Jeremy Laurence and the Hang Gliders are set to join Ricky Neil Jr. onstage for the Perth date.
HEARTBREAKER was produced and co-written with Ross James, with the new track featuring a groovy, disco-pop sound and lyrics exploring the emotional push and pull of a relationship.
The new single follows the success of recent singles, including SUPANOVA and TROCADERO, with HEARTBREAKER written during Ricky’s time in Mushroom Creative’s prestigious First Nations Pathway songwriting program.
“Ross and I really locked into a polished, hot pink sound here,” Neil Jr. said. “We were chasing a chorus that feels like you want to yell it in your car or get buck wild on the dance floor.”
The new release adds to a growing list of achievements for the local artist. He has performed alongside Dan Sultan at the MCG for the 2026 AFL Dreamtime Match, received national rotation on Nova with SUPANOVA, and earned a nomination for WAM Pop Act of the Year.
Ricky Neil Jr.’s new single HEARTBREAKER is out on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Ricky Neil Jr. brings his HEARTBREAKER Tour to Albany Town Hall on Saturday, August 22 and Indian Ocean Hotel on September 12, 2026. Tickets for the Perth show are on sale now from oztix.com
