9.5/10

Head First Acrobatics’ GODZ was a wondrous way to celebrate the opening night of Perth Fringe. So much more than just your average acrobatic circus show, it is clear to see why Head First are multiple award-winning Fringe World favourites. GODZ was cheeky, risqué and ballsy, and did have some nudity, yet somehow it felt wholesome enough you could, and should, bring your mum.

The incredibly muscular Apollo, Cupid, Dionysius, and Hercules took us on an awe inspiring, gravity-defying journey into the underworld. Whips, trapeze, break dancing, spectacular juggling, lots of bare butts…it was impossible to not have an amazing time. Head First are not only mind-blowing acrobats but extremely charismatic performers and skilled storytellers.

The audience was lit up in smiles, and pulses were racing through the entire performance with people mesmerised by the display of anxiety-inducing physical feats. Beyond the remarkable talent of all the performers, what made this a standout, absolute must-see show, was the display of connection, friendship, enthusiasm and trust between the troupe. Their joy was contagious as they immersed you in their world with a performance that was exhilarating from the very start to the dazzling, sparkling, stiletto finish.
