Fool Nelson brought plenty of energy to YHQ in Leederville on Sunday for an all-ages show that highlighted just how much the WA three-piece have to offer. With a strong turnout, the band delivered a fun set that felt right at home in the intimate venue.

Opening the afternoon were Ghost Care and Clare Perrott, both of whom showcased original material and helped set a welcoming tone with their crowd interactions before Fool Nelson took to the stage.

The trio opened with Don’t Feel Right, getting the audience on their feet almost immediately. Despite playing on a Sunday, the band made a point of thanking everyone who had come along, showing genuine appreciation for the support.

Falling Apart was a standout, with the room singing along, while Big Shot kept things moving. The band also previewed new song Don’t Look Up, offering a taste of what’s to come, before closing with Bad Dreams. The set balanced familiar favourites with new material, giving fans plenty to get excited about.

One of the afternoon’s highlights was seeing the range of people in attendance. YHQ’s all-ages format drew a largely younger audience, many of whom clearly knew the songs and were already invested in the band. After the set, Fool Nelson stuck around to meet fans and take photos, reinforcing the connection they’d built on stage.

With new music on the way and a growing following behind them, Fool Nelson are a WA act worth catching live.
