New exhibition brings connection, creativity, and community to the heart of the city
A new free and all-ages exhibition is coming to the heart of the city throughout October.
Titled Wall of Hearts, the exhibition showcases 265 individual hand-painted hearts coming together as one collective artwork.
This vibrant, immersive celebration of individuality, unity, and hope will be displayed at Forrest Chase from Friday, October 2, to Friday, October 30.
With each heart representing a unique story, energy, and meaning, the exhibition was created by WA artist Erica Allia, who rediscovered painting during the COVID-19 pandemic while living in Bali. Beginning with a single heart painted at night, it grew into a daily practice that became a way of exploring humanity, compassion, belonging, and the invisible threads that connect people.
As part of the exhibition, educator Rebecca Hamer will be hosting several free hands-on art workshops for children during school holidays.
These include Children’s Art Workshops on Monday, October 5; Tuesday, October 6; and Wednesday, October 7, and Neurodivergent Children’s Art Workshops, happening on Friday, October 9. All workshops will have Erica Allia in attendance.
Presented by The HEARTME Collective with support from Ampersand, IBM, ECU and more, the exhibition celebrates connection, creativity, and community through immersive public art and storytelling.
HEARTME Collective: Wall of Hearts is showing at Forrest Chase from Friday, October 2, to Friday, October 30, 2026. For more information, visit ourwaparks.org.au
