Axiomatically, Perth tends to get the short end of the stick when it games to festival sideshows, which makes the news that both Neko Case and Gold Panda will be heading westward when they’re over for Victoria’s Golden Plains festival in March.
Case, who last graced our shores all the way back in 2010, will be touring her latest album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, hitting Fremantle’s Fly By Night Musician’s Club on Thursday, February 27 before going on to play Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Sunday, March 2; the Sydney Opera house on Monday, March 3; the Hi Fi in Brisbane on Wednesday, March 5 and Fowlers Live in Adelaide on Friday, March 7.
UK electronic producer Gold Panda – Derwin Powers to his confidantes – plays Sydey’s OAF on Thursday, March 6; The Corner hotel in Melbourne on Friday, March 7 and The Bakery in Perth on Sunday, March 9.
