Musicians and media go head-to-head for charity as Reclink Community Cup returns
The Reclink Community Cup returns to Perth for its tenth year in 2025, taking over Leederville Oval on Sunday, October 5.
The head-to-head Aussie rules match sees media and arts organisation personalities, the Newshounds, square off against local musicians, the Bandgropers, in a major fundraising event for Reclink Australia.
The Bandgropers boast players from Didion’s Bible, Gap Year, Bribes, Nervous, and Katy Steele, plus a host of other local bands. The Newshounds feature players from RTRFM, ABC Perth, The West Australian, the WA Government and local council members.
The event will see a halftime show from Gap Year and post-game performances from Bribes and Didion’s Bible in the Subiaco Football Club function room.
“The Reclink Community Cup is a special and unique day where footy and music come together for everyone to enjoy,” said Dave Wells, Reclink Australia CEO. “The support from our partners, sponsors, the football and music industry, as well as the wider community, is amazing and is the reason why we are able to hold the event year after year.”
Proceeds from this fundraising event go to Reclink Australia’s programs. Their structured sport and recreation programs improve life outcomes for those experiencing mental illness, family violence, homelessness, people with disabilities, Aboriginal people, CALD people, at-risk youth and more.
The event offers family entertainment, live music, kids’ activities, and, of course, the big game with bounce-down at 2pm.
