Miss Kaninna celebrates her debut mixtape BLACKPRINT with a national tour
Naarm-based First Nations artist Miss Kaninna is set to celebrate her long-awaited debut mixtape BLACKPRINT with a national headline tour this August.
Miss Kaninna will kick off the BLACKPRINT Tour at Rosemount Hotel on Friday, August 21, before heading to Darwin, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Castlemaine.
The upcoming tour comes in celebration of the artist’s new mixtape BLACKPRINT, out on Friday, August 21, via Soul Has No Tempo / AWAL Recordings. The new six-track BLACKPRINT mixtape, produced by Lucy Blomkamp and Nikodimos, is rooted firmly in hip-hop, drawing on influences from funk, soul, R&B, rock, punk, grunge and club genres.
Fans can expect to hear new tracks off the mixtape live, including MOB TIES, BACKSTREETS and the recent single HANDOUT, featuring Jamahl Yami.
“HANDOUT looks at themes of privilege in white Australia,” Miss Kaninna said. “It’s about Black power and reclaiming identity and rage, especially with the double standards of crime and prosecution in so-called Australia.”
As a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali sovereign woman, Miss Kaninna has garnered global acclaim as a six-time ARIA Award nominee who has achieved over three million streams. In 2025, the musician was named one of NME’s Essential 100 Emerging Artists, achieved her second J Award nomination, and scored three ARIA Award nominations for her sold-out Dawg In Me national tour and her critically acclaimed debut 2024 EP KANINNA.
Miss Kaninna also headed the creation of Sovereign Day Out, a First-Nations-led festival. She has shared stages with De La Soul, Amyl & the Sniffers and Kneecap, with performances at Laneway Festival, The Great Escape UK and Bluesfest.
Miss Kaninna brings her BLACKPRINT Tour to Rosemount Hotel on Friday, August 21, 2026. BLACKPRINT is out on Friday, August 21. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 23, from misskaninna.com
