Melody Pool embraces change with new single and national tour

Australian singer-songwriter Melody Pool has today released a new single, Changing, alongside a run of tour dates in Europe, the UK, and Australia.

The Australian leg of the tour kicks off at Perth’s Lyric’s Underground on Wednesday, September 25 before heading east for shows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra and Nimbin.

The new single follows on from Melody Pool’s LPs The Hurting Scene (2013) and Deep Dark Savage Heart (2016), and 2023 EP Lost In Time.

“It’s really mostly about accepting that the only constant in life is change,” said Pool about the new single. “Changing, to me, is about finding a way to make the heavy stuff worth it, allowing it to change you. And allowing the darkest parts of yourself their time in the light so you can hear their needs and shift them into a healthier space in your life.”

Mixed by Damien Charles and mastered by William Bowden, Changing was recorded live as a band, to tape, with no isolation.

“The process seems to make everyone a little more on edge, which ups everyone’s game.” Pool said. “It’s a special thing to rely on each other throughout a take when you are all in the same room, but it helps you lean into everyone’s energy and I believe that’s where the magic happens.”

Melody Pool’s new single, Changing, is out now. Melody Pool plays Lyric’s Underground on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Tickets are on sale now from lyricsunderground.oztix.com.au
