Mark Stevenson brings new solo exhibition, ICONS, to Vinyl Gallery

Perth artist Mark Stevenson will bring his second solo exhibition, ICONS, to Vinyl Gallery in Leederville.

The new stencil exhibition will celebrate a selection of the most iconic women in history, and fittingly, goes on display on International Women’s Day, this Friday, March 8.

“Whilst not being a definitive representation of strong willed, independent, hard working, creative females, I chose the subjects from both my personal appreciation and for the actual images themselves,” said Stevenson. “I feel that if you don’t know any background of these subjects, then you should enlighten yourself to their varied careers and lives…there is much to admire and aspire to within their stories.”

“When planning this show last year, I had thought of March as being a suitable time and when I checked my diary, lo and behold—Friday eighth of March 2024 is International Women’s Day, it may have been an omen. Luckily that date was available at Vinyl Gallery and I’m very excited to work with their team as it’s a big step up from my last exhibition.”
