Mahalia announces Becca Hatch as special guest on In Real Life Australian tour
Grammy-nominated UK singer-songwriter Mahalia has announced she will bring local music sensation Becca Hatch on the road for her In Real Life Australian tour this April and May.
The tour kicks off with an all-ages show at Astor Theatre on Tuesday, April 30, before heading east for shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Delivering soul well beyond her years, Hatch rose to prominence after winning triple j’s Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative in 2017. Recent releases Without You and Blessed have seen Hatch diversify her sound, embracing the dance-pop realm while staying true to her soul and R&B roots. Her first release of 2024, Bass Keeps Calling, is a playful drum and bass track reminiscent of nights out with friends and letting go of inhibitions.
“I’m so excited to be joining Mahalia on tour!” said Hatch. “I’ve been a massive fan of her since I was in high school. I literally have memories blasting I Wish I Missed My Ex on my car speakers while singing along with my best friend. It’s not often you get the opportunity to support an international artist as incredible as Mahalia, and I can’t wait. I’m feeling extremely grateful and excited to play all the new music I’ve been working on!”
Mahalia is returning to Australia for the first time since 2020 for her biggest Australian tour yet, after playing Laneway Festival and selling out Sydney and Melbourne headline shows on her last visit.
Last year was Mahalia’s biggest yet, playing a huge sold-out UK and European tour, collaborating with legendary US pop/R&B superstar JoJo on single Cheat, and releasing her second album IRL.
Mahalia is set to perform hits like What You Did (feat. Ella Mai), Simmer (feat. Burna Boy), and I Wish I Missed My Ex, as well as tracks from IRL, on her anticipated return.
Mahalia has announced Becca Hatch will join her for Australian tour, hitting Astor Theatre on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Tickets are on sale now from premier.ticketek.com.au
