To celebrate 10 years since its release, Perth heavy hitters Karnivool will be performing their second album Sound Awake in its entirety on an upcoming Australian anniversary tour this April. Sure to get fans arguing over which is better out of Themata and Sound Awake, they will be playing at the Fremantle Arts Centre on Friday, April 24 along with other capital cities on the east coast.
The band’s first album Themata was a breakthrough and is perhaps their most recognised album to date. Sound Awake was the much anticipated follow up, coming four years later and introducing the world to a more evolved Karnivool. After Themata was mostly written and recorded in the studio, Sound Awake was their first true collaborative effort, and ushered in a new, focused sound. Sound Awake was written in the rehearsal room and the songs forged from the band playing and working together.
It landed in the number two spot on the ARIA charts and people responded with rave reviews. The singles from the album include Set Fire to the Hive and All I Know, but the non-single monster track Goliath is a definitive classic.
Karnivool play Sound Awake at Fremantle Arts Centre on Friday, April 24. Tickets on sale on Thursday, February, 27 from Oztix.
