JOONDALUP FESTIVAL Music set to make a mark

Joondalup Festival
are encouraging you to explore more, having announced the artists taking to the stage across the first weekend in April, Friday, April 5 until Sunday, April 7, and will feature popular local act, Spacey Jane (pictured). They will lead an evening of free live music at Central Park, Joondalup City Centre on Saturday, April 6.

Known for their infectious garage pop and fresh from their slot at the Falls Festival, Spacey Jane have quickly established themselves as one of the ‘must see’ live acts at festivals across WA. Their latest single is receiving heavy rotation on Triple J.

Joining them will be The Steve Hensby Band, Timothy Nelson, Your Girl Pho, Young Robin, Sinti Jazz, Andrew Winton and The Bambuseae Rhythm Section.

Steve Hensby trained at Berklee College of Music and is currently touring across Australia and the UK. Always a crowd pleaser, Steve and his band provide gypsy-tinged country songs.

Timothy Nelson is well known within the scene, and is one of Perth’s premier songwriters. He has toured across Australia, Japan and the USA.

Your Girl Pho has supported the likes of Post Malone, the Avalanches, Lady Leshurr, E^ST, Kllo, Banoffee and Alice Ivy as well as having toured through Mexico and played Falls Festival, Groovin The Moo, Festival Vaiven (Mexico) and Listen Out.

Young Robin has a sound that moves between rock, indie and dance floor anthems. They are fan favourites on Triple J Unearthed, and were the ‘In Focus’ artist at the Aussie Music Weekly radio show.

From Strasbourg (France) to Joondalup, gypsy jazz trio Sinti Jazz are a true blend of old and new. They are inspired by Django Reinhardt, and are all about the guitar. Their mission is to bring the timeless romantic swing from France (1930s) to a whole new audience.

Andrew Winton is a WA born and bred multi award-winning lap-slide specialist and songwriter of blues’ originals and mix of popular gems from all genres. Andrew’s musical journey jumps from the shores of WA to the swamps and cities of Americas deep south.

And finally, The Bambuseae Rhythm Section is a lively eight-piece who deliver a fresh mix of infectious blues riffs, funk, afrobeat, jazz and reggae.
