It’s that time of year again… Freedom Time is coming back to Perth this New Year’s Eve to the beautiful grounds of the Ozone Reserve, nestled between Perth City and the Swan River shoreline. Freedom Time is a blend of house party/BBQ level intimacy and a NYE festival format with an impressive range of local and national acts.
This years line-up boasts some of the finest DJs and live electronic acts going around. Get lost in eclectic house, jazz and funk sounds by way of legendary disc-spinners Miles Cleret, Umut and Simon Caldwell (pictured above). Along with low-slung/high-vibe underground electronics via Tornado Wallace, Adi Toohey, Rok Riley and more. Plus, there’s a powder-keg of top-shelf techno, jungle and breaks in store thanks to Tred, DJ Scorpion, Magda Bytnerowicz and Carmel.
Add to this a cast of bright-eyed, musical locals like Aggrolite, Lia T, Montana, Tom Nobody, Lil Dipper – plus the Polyrhythmic, Perfect Strangers and Sealed Section collectives. Freedom Time has got a musical congregation with a uniquely Australian flavour, to help you celebrate ushering in the 20s.
There’ll be cups of coffee to keep those early sleepers awake till the clock strikes, with wine, cocktails and all kinds of drinks flowing accompanied by a delicious array of food. What’s more, this year Freedom Time is adopting an eco-festival model, turning the car-park into a bike-park, eliminating single-use plastics, straws and more.
