Fanning Dempsey National Park announce debut album and national tour

Two of Australia’s most celebrated songwriters, Bernard Fanning of Powderfinger and Paul Dempsey of Something for Kate, have joined forces to form a new project, Fanning Dempsey National Park.

Today, the duo have announced their debut album, The Deluge, will be released on Friday, August 2, via Dew Process/UMA.

Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey agreed from the outset that their debut album was not going to be what people expected. With this sonic guiding principle, where synthesisers are edging out guitars, their newly announced national tour hits Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne before wrapping up with a show at Perth’s Astor Theatre on Friday, November 1.

Bringing their debut album to life on stage, the setlist will also deliver a few surprises for fans with additions from their collective songbooks and record collections.

“We’ve been telling you all how excited we are for you to hear our new album, The Deluge,” Fanning and Dempsey said, “but that doesn’t compare to the fever we have to announce our national tour. It’s coming in October/ November to a venue near you. Get on board, bring your raincoat, and prepare for a lot of fun.”

Fanning Dempsey National Park’s debut album, The Deluge, is out on Friday, August 2 and available to pre-save and pre-order now. Fanning Dempsey National Park play Astor Theatre on Friday, November 1. Tickets are on sale Tuesday, June 4 from fanningdempseynationalpark.com
