Fairbridge Festival announces 2024 return

After a two year hiatus, Fairbridge Festival will return next year at a new location.

Lock in the dates Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7 next year, the weekend after Easter, when the popular music and arts festival makes its debut at Edenvale Heritage Precinct on the fringe of Pinjarra.

“We’re keeping the historic, village atmosphere you know and love," said the team at FolkWorld, the organisation behind the festival. “Think lush trees, heritage buildings, beautiful riverfront views and a beautiful little chapel. It’s going to be a magical few days!"

“We are delighted to be hosting the 2024 Fairbridge Festival to make this a fantastic celebration of music, arts and community" said The Shire of Murray, who will be hosting the event. “The festival will offer residents and visitors an exciting experience that showcases Pinjarra’s creative culture and wild-at-heart spirit."

Fairbridge Festival was cancelled in 2022 due to COVID-19 concerns. The festival did not go ahead again in 2023 as organisers searched for a new home for the popular annual event amid concerns about the impact the event was having on the historic Fairbridge Village, the site where the festival took place.

Last year Drew Dymond, President of the not-for-profit member organisation FolkWorld Inc., said the board had reluctantly decided to cancel the festival following matters recently raised by staff of Fairbridge WA – the personnel who manage Fairbridge Village.

Restrictions faced by the festival included limiting capacity by approximately 50% and not being able to utilise some venues on site. In addition, areas usually used for camping and parking would not have been available in 2023 due to biosecurity measures in place on the surrounding farmland.

The family-friendly music and camping event had been held at Fairbridge Village, near Pinjarra, since 1993.

Fairbridge Festival goes down at Edenvale Heritage Precinct from Friday, April 5 to Sunday, April 7, 2024. For more info and to buy tickets, head to fairbridgefestival.com.au
