EVENT GUIDE TOP 5 Bill Bailey, William Shatner & more

It’s another big week for touring acts, plus our usual selection of local greatness continues to prosper across all arts and music scenes. Our Event Guide is Perth’s number one source for all our city has to offer; if you’d like to see anything featured, shoot us an email at [email protected].

1. Bill Bailey

The Black Books and Never Mind the Buzzcocks funnyman is taking his latest show Earl of Whimsy to the PCEC tonight and tomorrow evening for a night full of laughs. If you’re into his “trademark blend of satire and surrealism” as his people put it, this is one you shouldn’t let slip in a hurry.

2. William Shatner

Entertainer extraordinaire William Shatner‘s unique storytelling show is happening for one night only at the Perth Concert Hall on Sunday night. Whether you want to hear BTS Star Trek gossip, why on earth he covered a Pulp track or just stories of his life, his show will cover it all.

3. Ball Park Music & San Cisco

Two modern indie powerhouses are joining forces in the picturesque gardens of the Fremantle Arts Centre this Friday. The show is bound to display what’s had everyone talking about both groups in the past five years or so, and impress newer fans alike. Ruby Fields will also be opening, if the two headliners weren’t reason enough.

4. The Songbook Sessions

The list of successful musicians and artists who have hailed from WAAPA is truly a testament to their teaching. To check out the next wave of upcoming stars, head over to their annual Contemporary Music Artist showcase which is on tonight and tomorrow at ECU’s The Edith.

5. The Sewing Room’s 1st birthday

Is it just us or does The Sewing Room seem like it’s been around forever? Friday night marks one year of operations, and to celebrate Sly Withers, Spacey Jane and Fraeya (as well as some super secret guests) will be leading the festivities. What more could you want in a birthday party?
